Secularism as a mainstream ideology in the west is an ideology that express in the collective living of human beings we must exclude religion and transcendental affairs from our lives. The writer in this article tries to explain the bases of secularism, provide some definitions for secularism and probe its roots. In the end of this article, the main bases of secularism such as rationalism, scientism and humanism are criticized.
