The “Substantial Motion” in Islamic philosophy is an issue propounded by Mullah Sadra for the first time. The philosophers prior to him approved motion only in Accidental Categories. The Substantial Motion that means the universe is constantly renewing and potting on and taking off has leaded to marvelous changes in philosophy. In this writing with presumed acceptance of the Substantial Motion we discuss the consequences of this kind of motion and its effects on important philosophical and theological issues like the issue of spirit, knowledge and understanding, eventuatedness and eternality of the universe, resurrection and the relation between dynamic and stable.
