Muslims have been involved in a strong disagreement and dispute over intercession through late centuries. The opponents like Wahhabis call intercession of anyone, except God, at the day of resurrection into question. They resort to the verses like: "Say, All intercession rests with Allah" , "You do not have besides Him any guardian or intercessor. Will you not then take admonition?" , "neither any intercession shall be accepted from it, nor any ransom shall be received from it, nor will they be helped" etc. to prove their argument, and say God rejects intercession, or attributes it exclusively to Himself in these verses. Otherwise, it results to interfere in God's affairs, or impairs His justice. Whereas, if they comprehend the reality of intercession, they would never make such an extravagant claims. The holy Qur'an and hadiths explicitly stipulate that God has favored the advantage of intercession to the Prophet (P.B.U.H.), saints, and righteous people, and there is the unanimity of many Shi'a and Sunni scholars in this case.
